Kathy Stevens, RN
1950-2007

Kathy has a very special place in the history of our company. She was the Founder, Owner, and President of Shorman Stevens Solutions from 1993 until 2003. She and her dear husband, Bob, were supportive friends who encouraged Judy Shorman to found our company. Kathy was always positive and had a delightful sense of humor.

Kathy was a skilled Registered Nurse who worked in Medical-Surgery, Cardiac, and OB/GYN Units, as well as Emergency Rooms in Chicago hospitals. She was a native Chicagoan and received her nursing degree from Prairie State in 1979.

Kathy’s career was primarily spent in the field of Medical Case Management and Medical Bill Review, where she performed her work and taught others. She worked in 3 other companies for 11 years before spending 14 years with Shorman Solutions.

She was an enjoyable sales woman and has many colleagues in the industry who miss her. She was active in organizations such as the Blue Goose and the Workers' Compensation Claim Association, and made innumerable presentations over the years.

In addition, Kathy was active politically in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana. She testified about medical cost issues in Workers' Compensation, and worked on task forces to help make regulatory progress.

Kathy treasured doting on her 2 granddaughters, Kassidy and Kamryn, and was a loving mother of Eric, Karl, and her daughter-in-law, Kim. She was a member of Eagle Rock Community Church and woman of strong faith. Kathy loved to travel, go boating or snow skiing, and was an avid reader.
